15 Rules Beyonce Makes Her Kids Follow
‘The Brady Bunch’ is still considered one of the best family shows in American history, although it only reached popularity on syndication and not during the original airing. However, the country fell in love with the characters, particularly Marcia Brady, who grew up on the show and had a pretty complicated celebrity life. She is still a celebrity, but what is she doing now? And the rest of the cast? Let’s find out!
Florence Henderson became one of the most recognized faces in America when she starred on the show as Carol Brady, the matriarch of the family. The actress had already appeared in several Broadway plays before landing the role of a lifetime. Her mother taught her singing at an early age, and Henderson started singing at the local supermarket at 12 years old.
While some people disappear when a show ends, Henderson continued her successful career in the entertainment business. She was even the first woman to co-host ‘The Tonight Show’. Afterward, Florence hosted ‘The Florence Henderson Show' and made appearances in ‘King of Queens’, ‘The Cleveland Show’, and more. Unfortunately, the actress died in 2016 at 82 years old.
Plumb played the role of Jan Brady on the show, the middle sister of the clan. Although she was young, the actress had already appeared on television for a while. She had several commercials under her belt as well as leading roles in series like ‘The Virginian’ and ‘It Takes a Thief’. Unlike most of the cast, she did not appear in other stuff after the original ended.
Eve was asked to appear in reunions, but the actress wanted to play other kinds of roles in her life. You might remember her from the movie ‘Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway’. Her professional career continued, but she also became an amazing painter. Her studio is in California, and some of her works can go for thousands of dollars.
Davis played one of the best roles on the shows as Alice, the housekeeper of the Brady family. However, before landing the role, the actress appeared on shows like ‘The Ford Show’ alongside Ernie Ford. Interestingly, Ann originally never wanted to be an actress, but her brother appeared in several plays while she was in medical school. So, Davis eventually became a drama student.
People loved her so much that Davis is one of three actors that appeared on every single episode of ‘The Brady Bunch’. When the original show ended, the actress continued her role in almost all the spin-offs. Sadly, she retired from the business in the 70s and moved to Colorado, where she became a Christian. Davis passed away in 2014.
Just like Florence Henderson, Robert Reed became a huge star after playing the role of Mike Brady, the patriarch of the family. His first major role was as Kenneth Preston in ‘The Defenders’. Before that, he worked with The Summer Shakespearewrights on off-Broadway productions. People still remember as one of the best fathers on television.
Viewers loved his role as the country has always been obsessed with the idea of the all-American family. When the show ended, he appeared in several spin-offs playing Mike again. He was also in a few other movies before he started teaching acting at the University of California. Unfortunately, he passed in 1992 at just 59 years old.
Mike Lookinland played the adorable Bobby Brady. He landed the role on the show at the age of 9, and naturally, played the youngest son of the clan. However, the young actor also became one of the most popular on ‘The Brady Bunch’. Furthermore, just like many other members of the cast, Lookinland participated in a bunch of the reunions.
Aside from the reunions, the actor continued to play Bobby on six spin-offs of the series. However, after several years, he took an interest in the production aspect of things and assisted in several movies. Interestingly, it was Robert Reed who inspired him as the actor had given Super 8 cameras to all of the Brady’s.
Christopher Knight played another of the Brady children, Peter. He also started working in the entertainment business at a young age. He starred in several commercials for brands like Toyota and Cheerios before getting a big role in ‘Gunsmoke’. However, his role in ‘The Brady Bunch’ would define his career.
Sadly, when the original run of the show ended, Knight did not appear in anything else related to the Brady’s. In the late 80s, he retired from acting and started working in the technology sector as a sales representative. He climbed the employment ladder until he became the vice president and eventually founded his own company, Eskape Labs, in the late 90s. In the 2000s, Knight became a reality TV star.
Maureen McCormick played arguably the most-liked character on the show, Marcia Brady. The actress was just 13 years old when they started, and her character was the oldest girl of the clan. Many storylines centered around her. By the end of the first season, McCormick was one of the most beloved people in America.
Unfortunately, her life changed significantly when the show ended. She struggled with substance dependency as well as lack of self-esteem. The situation was particularly hard on her because Maureen had such a good-girl persona. However, things eventually turned around when she married actor Michael Cummings. McCormick recovered and resealed several country songs in the 90s.
Fans always wondered if the actress would return to television at some point. She did. In 2007, McCormick joined VH1’s ‘Celebrity Fit Club’ and won the competition. You might also remember seeing her in the 23rd season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Sometimes, life can be hard, but everyone is glad that Maureen was able to turn things around.
